Tampa Provides Valuable Experience for AJRA Rowers

This past weekend,  Atlanta Junior Rowing Association competed in the Florida Sprint League Championship, at the Tampa Bypass Canal. This was a new event for the team, featuring a dual-style championship bracket, with heats and semis in the morning and finals in the afternoon. In addition, the top three 8+’s for both men and women were seeded based on earlier spring results. All AJRA boats equaled or bettered their ranking, and gained valuable experience racing teams from across the state of Florida.

The women’s JV8 had an especially strong day of racing, starting with a 4th place ranking. The boat won their heat, then won their semifinal over top seed Sarasota Crew, and finished the day 2nd overall in the grand final.
